The Wayfinder Foundation was founded in 2017 to connect women of color activists from historically marginalized communities with resources, support, and training to amplify their voices and leadership skills.

Our theory of action seeks to prove that philanthropy can transform public systems by committing technical support and financial resources to activists with lived experience working at the grassroots of social change.

We seek to use the tools of philanthropy to put resources directly into the hands of change agents--- women of color activists and organizers.

We make direct financial investments in Black and Brown women activists and organizers around the country through our fellowship programs;

  • We provide technical support and financial support to grassroots organizations and groups run by women of color;

  • We annually convene Black and Brown women for a national activist bootcamp, leadership development, and networking opportunities;

  • We work to build activists’ capacity by providing technical support, training, mentoring, and coaching;

OUR TEAM

The Wayfinder team has nearly a century of experience in nonprofit, education, and grassroots activism and grantmaking. In addition to our leadership team we have a network of activists who help us amplify the most important issues in their communities, and develop a national agenda for better schools, stronger families, and thriving communities.
